Floss Jordan Refuses To Be A Cliche On ‘Clay’

Floss Jordan is an up-and-coming artist from London. Her new single ‘Clay’ strikes at the heart with a steely defiance.

Floss Jordan – Clay

To use modern parlance Floss Jordan could be seen as a quadruple threat! She’s not only an accomplished singer but also a DJ, dancer and model.

As a dancer, she has performed with established artists including Charlie XCX, Years & Years, and Breach. As a model, she’s appeared at London Fashion Week and modelled for brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Desigual, and Lee Cooper Jeans. And DJ Floss, she has supported the iconic electronic duo Basement Jaxx.

Her new single ‘Clay’ tells the story of a partner who tries to objectify her as just another thing in his collection. There is a defiance in her voice as she proclaims she refuses to be the cliche or part of his collection. ‘Clay’ is produced by Ian Curnow who has a vast back catalogue including work with Rick Astley and Kylie Minogue.

Jordan’s light vocals float over a comforting piano bed. As the piece progresses, it builds and swells with strings and synths giving this composition a gothic noir flair. There is a haunting quality that strikes through the heart.

“Clay is an anthem of quiet and impassioned defiance.”

Clay is the fourth single release from Floss Jordan following Love, Kings & Queens (which we included on our Lost On Radio Podcast) and Salt. She is slowly building a back catalogue to envy.
