Second Thoughts Urge Self Confidence On ‘Somebody To Talk About’

Second Thoughts Somebody To Talk About

Still planting the seeds for their new EP, Hitchin, Hertfordshire quartet Second Thoughts reveal their second single ‘Somebody To Talk About’ an enticing piece of music that illustrates the many facets of British teenage life.

Second Thoughts – Somebody To Talk About

For a band that still fits under the rising act category, this four-piece already counts with a fair share of remarkable milestones, including their significant following on social media with over 134k followers on TikTok, 42k on Instagram, and 70k on Spotify, setting them apart from the rest as one to watch.

Falling in the same vein as their previous offering How Would You Know, their latest single is soaked with their characteristic optimism, in Somebody To Talk About this band manages to transform what usually would be a sour topic into a jolly indie banger with delightful back vocals, and an unparalleled rhythm section. Also, it has the notable distinction of being the first song in this group’s discography to have an acoustic guitar.

But the stellar musicianship is not the only thing this piece has in common with their last track. The lyrics convey a meaningful message as well, as the band states:

“‘Somebody to talk about’ is a song about not caring what people think of you and having the confidence to believe in yourself. Musically, we felt inspired by bands such as the La’s and the Lemonheads“.

Inspiring, uplifting, and catchy, Somebody To Talk About is an absolute Indie blast.

Second Thoughts’ upcoming EP was produced and mixed by Iain Berryman (Wolf Alice, Beebadoobee), and it will consist of four formidable tracks that will definitely make some waves, just like their previous work.
