New ethereal indie-rock: Jack Hyphen releases “Lifetime”.

Introducing Jack Hyphen

Midlands-born, Manchester-based Jack Hyphen is an artist with quite the bag of tricks. Largely fusing alt-rock and indie-pop, but dipping into everything in between, the former Point Zero band member is proud to showcase his musical prowess as a solo force.

Knowing that he was destined for a larger sound, the singer was set to make serious waves in the industry before the impact of the pandemic. Aligning his circumstances with most musicians, Hyphen struggled as a full-time performer, and the gleaming future before him suddenly appeared bleak. Forced to take a step back from his craft for a short while, a bout of self-isolation drew the artist back towards music, where he used the time to write and record what are now some of his fan favourites.

Lifetime

Returning with a new single, “Lifetime”, which he describes as “two and a half minutes of moody, atmospheric alt-rock”, the track explores the concepts of expectation, determination and pressure. He explains, “Lifetime is about the struggle of wanting to do the things you want to do, and you know you need to, but the pressure that is put on you, or you put on yourself, is stopping you from doing so”.

Ceasing the project twice due to catching COVID, the artist is delighted to have the track out in the world. Bound with catchy ostinatos, a pop-punk reminiscent attitude and an aura of “I want better for myself”, the single is a bold set-up from one of Manchester’s promising voices. Pairing strong emotion with the perfect splash of groove, Hyphen has exquisitely achieved the “sad hours” indie-rock atmosphere we hold close to our hearts. We anticipate many more great things to come!

“Lifetime” will leave you very invested in this rising artist’s journey to prominence. Nodding to acts such as Robin Schulz and Sam Fender, the track is the perfect alluring indie track for your summer playlists”
