The title may be a tad more dramatic than the truth, but multi-instrumentalist Harry Heart can attest to a similar feat after his studio flooded. Harry Heart “Sunk”

The title may be a tad more dramatic than the truth, but multi-instrumentalist Harry Heart can attest to a similar feat after his studio flooded. Luckily, his works were saved, and his instruments were unharmed. Now Harry Heart has resurfaced with a nautical vengeance, wielding the track “Sunk” as your next go-to vibe.

Harry wrote the b-side ‘Surfacing’ after serendipitously meeting freediving photographer Mark Tilley in Brighton. “We teamed up to release the ‘Sunk/Surfacing Digital Collection‘ as a celebration of our two wildly different artistic worlds.” explains Harry.

Following his sellout NFT album “Cambistry” in 2023, Harry Heart has pulled the right strings to grow his audience across Spotify, Soundcloud and Web3. What will become on the 13th of September 2024, a solid entry within the album “Venom In A Pitcher”, “Sunk” is released with the lo-fi B-side “Surfacing”.

Is “Sunk” likely to resonate with his fans? Absolutely! After the initial synth intro, Harry Heart weaves tightly-knit harmonies in a slower but undeniably similar style to tracks like Arctic Monkey’s “Snap Out Of It” or Tame Impala’s “Eventually”.

The combination of reverb-soaked electric guitar stabs and the eventual kick-in of chugs and snares will appease even the most ardent indie fans. If you are looking for bland rehashes of bygone Brit-Pop tracks, we suggest you don’t waste your time.

“It’s simple. If your ears are primed for DIY experimentation and one hell of a crescendo, give this single a spin”

Lyrically, he retains his philosophical musings but doesn’t fall into the absurdity of overdoing his well-poised metaphors. They’re razor sharp and release a chorus that you and your grandmother could sing. We recommend you belt it out at one of his upcoming concerts or hum it while reading our other articles!

“I went into a writing frenzy out of relief and gratitude”.  – Harry Heart

Harry keeps his signature style of big guitars and sells them to us each time behind claps and hit-hat accompaniment. It’s not polished, but that’s what you want when you’re looking to lose yourself in electro/six-string hybridity.

We’re glad that he has kept true to his Gorillaz-inspired soundscape. While he leans more onto the side of The Strokes with this track (string bends and drum fills in abundance), the song is not a persistent one-note hymn sheet. He utilises genres like synth-pop and soft indie-rock to create a fresh sound for his musical portfolio.

As his first major release following the success of  “Cambistry”, Harry Heart has set the stage for his return to the UK for his next tour on the 16th of May at Strange Method Showcase, Bee’s Mouth in Brighton.

The question is… Will you be there?
