Bojockey Are Unforgettable on New Single ‘Magpie’

Bojockey - Magpie review on Right Chord Music

Bojockey are back with their third single, ‘Magpie,’ and we can guarantee one thing: this is a band you need to be listening to. In the same vein as indie-rock titans The National, Bojockey’s sound is both stirring and instantly memorable.

Bojockey – Magpie

‘Magpie,’ a vulnerable, slow burn of a song, is the perfect companion piece for those late-night drives and cold fall mornings.

The group behind Magpie are a five-piece indie-folk outfit currently based in London. Bojockey initially started out as the bedroom recording project of songwriter Samuel Williams while he was working as a producer and engineer after attending university. From there, it expanded outwards, adding Helena Grace on vocals and bass, Dustin Price on electric guitar, Alex Shave on keys, and Remi Garrier on drums.

Since joining together, the band has received rave reviews, with their first singles being championed by the likes of Matt Wilkinson of Apple Radio, Loud and Quiet, and BBC Introducing. And with their very first album due out in August, Bojockey are ready to stake their place in the indie-folk scene.

Now, with the release of ‘Magpie,’ the group is showcasing the distinct, moving sound they’ve become known for. The band thinks the song perfectly sums up the theme of their debut album a belief that a healthy life is one that is worth fighting for.

The song’s indelible hook, strong, minimalist production, and stunning lyrical imagery make ‘Magpie’ a track you’ll want to listen to again and again. Give it a play, share the song with your friends, and be on the lookout for their debut album in August. If ‘Magpie’ is any indication, Bojockey have a strong future ahead of them.
