Snowden River tries to escape the mundane on his new album, Sea Glass.
Snowden River – Sea Glass
Lukas Roselle, aka Snowden River, embraces the subtle edges here with his album Sea Glass, which is a soft, acoustic dream. Roselle sings with eagerness, balancing his voice and showing his abilities first-hand, while trying to escape the mundane, and throughout Sea Glass, his voice rises too, and at moments, he does sound like he’s looking for love and peace.
The melodies are fixed in beautifully, and the musician refrains from letting his guard down, properly putting in the work, securing such a stable and proficient sound, and with every moment on this album, the listeners may reflect on their own lives. This is because of the story attached, the chronicle of love and desire, a fuelled-up fable which doesn’t fade.
Empty Room starts the album off in a subtle manner. The acoustic sound complements Roselle’s vocals beautifully, and he looks for hope here even when he’s been hit with the blues. He’s saddened by the empty room that once flourished.
Sea Glass opens again with that acoustic sound, a fleeting sound. Roselle plays his trusted instrument like a champion, like an artist of sheer exuberance. However, the story isn’t pure, as some aspects of the song take a deep dive into sadness.
Blitzed ups the game. Roselle’s voice complements the drumbeat and the acoustic melody. He sings, turning heads and progressing with every strum and beat, absorbing the light and staving off the darkness.
“Snowden River has created a record full of acoustic charm.”
Evergreen is a piano-driven track which increases the diversity of the album. Roselle sings about meeting someone at the corner and then in a cafe, looking at the world pass them by. It has melody and brilliant harmonies and is another triumphant song.
Lukas Roselle has created a record of acoustic charm, and it’s astounding that the young man has utilised his talents as the prime instrumentalist. His ability is never-ending, and his muse seems to be elevating at every opportunity.
