Jules Atlas Feels Speechless on ‘Lockers’

Jules Atlas Lockers - Right Chord Music Blog

One month after the release of his positively received debut track ‘You’, Hamburg-based songwriter Jules Atlas has returned with Lockers, another splendid melody overflowing with sensitivity and tender lyricism.

Jules Atlas – Lockers

Born and raised in Hamburg, Germany, at the early age of eighteen, Jules Atlas travelled to London, where he started to make heads turn with nothing but his guitar and voice, leaving a good impression on whoever got the opportunity to witness his captivating performances.

His time in the UK gave Jules a unique opportunity to cut his teeth by supporting other artists, as well as headlining some shows of his own. Now back in his homeland, this rising musician is ready to conquer hearts and minds with his compelling mixture of folk and pop.

Lockers portrays the hypothetical scenario of a couple in a cafe on London’s Circle Line and the interaction, or should I say, the lack of interaction between the two. In other words, the track depicts the idea of being incapable of fully expressing yourself in a relationship, with awkward silence and small talk prevailing.

Along with an acoustic guitar and a soothing piano accompaniment, this is one of those occasions where less is definitely more. Jules’s songwriting reminds us how important is to have engaging lyricism in a musical piece, knocking it out of the park with these beautiful verses, hitting you right in the feels with his emotionally charged delivery, especially during the touching chorus.

Lockers is an intimate showcase of well-crafted folk and a heartfelt performance.

For an artist with only two singles out there, Jules has managed to build a loyal fanbase with over 3000 monthly listeners, a number fated to only increase from here, making things more exciting for his upcoming debut album, to be released this summer.
