Gentlemen’s Crow Grapple With Self Image On New Single ‘Did I Get The Picture’

Gentlemen's Crow Did I Get The Picture

With a spooky new album ‘Apparitions’ set to emerge in January, Gentlemen’s Crow used the Halloween weekend to drop lead single ‘Did I Get The Picture.’ Pitched somewhere between Queens of The Stone Age and Arctic Monkeys it’s hard not to be swept up in the energy of this Floridian four-piece.

Gentlemen’s Crow – Did I Get The Picture?

After building an organic fan base through live performances and underground releases in their hometown of St. Augustine, FL, Gentlemen’s Crow are now looking to take it global with the release of their new single ‘Did I Get The Picture?’

The single, already a fan favourite from the band’s live shows, grapples with self-image, morality, and shattered egos.

Did I Get The Picture emerges from a swamp rock intro to become a catchy indie floor filler, with guitar riffs that worm their way into your head and refuse to leave! When the guitar solo hits, everything gets cranked up to the next level of intensity. This is a band that excites us. When is that UK tour?

With hints of hard-rock and post-punk, Gentlemen’s Crow has created a distinctive alt-rock sound, in keeping with the Halloween theme it’s “frighteningly good”.

“The lyrics were kind of Cam imagining different situations of just letting it all go, destroying his ego for everyone to see and ultimately seeing the true version of himself taken as a picture on someone else’s camera.
The solo after the second chorus is another product of studio improv. We didn’t have a solid solo being played there, and Cam had some ideas but nothing solid. Cam tracked it a few times and on the fourth time everyone was just like ‘Shit, that was the one.’ Brok turned around from the studio console with this wild look on his face. It was truly an awesome studio moment.” — Gentlemen’s Crow
