Poesie’s Hunter-Gatherer offers a sincerity to everyday problems with its stumbling synths and exciting, eager electro-beat.
Poesie – Hunter-Gatherer
Poesie (Eloïse Poulton) is a growing London-based artist, previously known as a successful theatre writer and director, with her work called ‘genius’ (The Skinny) and ‘Incredibly compelling’ (The Guardian). Furthermore, her storytelling and enthusiasm has led to sold-out shows at Soho Theatre, The Arcola and even featured on BBC Sussex.
Now Poesie uses her theatre skills to create magical soul-touching stories in her songs, which are bursting with raw emotions and sincere struggles, as she explores the challenges in online dating, climate change and the loneliness epidemic faced in society. With her unique and dreamy vocals, Poesie yearns to reconnect with others and nature, especially in the cold loneliness present in the city, with her debut single Hunter-Gatherer.
This first release from her 4-track EP (Lost Romantics) is vibrant, expressive, and euphoric with honest lyricism longing to be found, like a coming-of-age movie.
Poesie’s Hunter-Gatherer offers a silly sincerity to everyday problems with its stumbling synths and exciting, eager electro-beat. It encourages living in the blissful feelings of freedom as a brief 2.5-minute escape, and it encourages singing and dancing along with its fleeting harmonies.
Poesie fuses indie and dance pop genres, drawing inspiration from artists like Marina, MUNA, Kate Bush, and CHVRCHES to create something energetic and earnest. This distinct dance pop banger feels unique, with beautiful, yearning vocals that are coated in authentic, relatable fears of loneliness, all bundled into an addictive chorus. Hunter-Gatherer will create a lingering impression that will continue to be dissected in your subconscious.
“Hunter-Gatherer is the track which distils the whole EP. It will make you move, think and burst with life. It’s wondrous and ecstatic.” – Eloïse Poulton, Poesie
