LI KUAN – So Alive
Li Kuan is a London-based singer/songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, but her new single ‘So Alive’ is pulled straight from the streets of Valencia. Infused with pop, electronic and classical nuances, ‘So Alive’ creates an almost psychedelic feeling in those who are lucky enough to listen.
Li Kuan looks to build on her previous release ‘The Fireworks’, offering a new variation of her already established sound. To create a whole musical world of her own over just two songs is a testament to her ability.
The pop-infused beat builds with the beauty of classical-infused instrumental riffs. Li Kuan uses this peaceful canvas to paint her picture, one that transports the listener into their own happy place.
Mesmerising vocals lead us into the first chorus. The chorus is based on a subtle, funky bassline and is overlayed with gorgeous, purposeful vocals. Throughout the song, the instrumentals and vocals change with precision to create an ever-changing yet thoughtfully organised track. Boxing this single into any genre, feeling, or motive would be doing a great disservice to a stupendous piece of independent art.
