Macatier builds on an established repertoire of bold, purposeful music with his enticing new single ‘Fade Away’. A bold, in-your-face anthem based on finding yourself in the real world.
Macatier – Fade Away
Macatier is the solo punk-indie project of Dan-Dudek Brown. A Bristol-based act that draws influence from across the musical globe. Whilst listening to ‘Fade Away’, it becomes obvious that a real musical brainbox is at work.
The sound is immediately raw and established, a song made by someone unafraid of and looking to create pure art. The title of the song embodies the atmosphere within. The listener is taken away from the everyday and launched into a place of their choosing, be it a memory or a distant universe. The pounding drums rise with a nice clash of symbols when an electric guitar slides in to bring the track to life – before the vocals start, an otherworldly aura encapsulates us.
The lyrics within the first two lines thrash against each other. A suggestion of an easy, loving whisk into a blissful happiness is pitted against the notion of wasting the last few years. The chorus is unique with its almost tiptoe-like candescence, creeping vocals trotting over a jumping baseline. This is fantastic craftsmanship.
‘Macatier shines on new track ‘Fade Away’, with a bright blend of the perfect instrument and brutal vocals.’
