The Barefoot Bandit sparkle on their new track ‘Summer High’. A beautiful blend of genres and instruments with a prophet-like voice overlay.
The Barefoot Bandit – Summer High
The Barefoot Bandit hail from the south-west of the UK and are a band that consistently defies genre and roles, in turn producing consistently solid musical talent. With the essence of punk-rock, reggae, rock and world music. A band that has a must-see live reputation and has become a staple on the UK touring circuit. To build upon their catalogue and their fantastic debut album, The Barefoot Bandit have released a new summer anthem in the form of ‘Summer High’.
A peaceful stream sets the scene for ‘Summer High’ as The Barefoot Bandit embark on modern music excellence. The mesh of beautiful sounds and instruments dazes the listener. As soon as the main melodic ‘Summer High’ lyrics kick in, the journey begins. The almost seamless blending of the melody into the verses is mesmerising and keeps the listener in a trance. I particularly love the line ‘ in your own shoes again’ that intermittently accompanies the main melody; it really does paint a beautiful picture of true comfort and sunshine-related happiness. The lovely messages throughout allow for 3 minutes of growth as well as enjoyment – a hallmark of great art.
The track is a gem and one that will find its way into anybody’s summer playlist. I see this being the backdrop to many barbeques, picnics and days in the sun. A splendid example of musical talent making the world a better place.
‘A song that can make a rainy day sunny. A real delight for all.’
