Green Wire Are About To Turn You ‘Upside Down, Inside Out’

Green Wire

Love can turn your world upside down at times, but Green Wire have a hell of a lot of fun writing songs about it, enter their addictive new single ‘Upside Down, Inside Out’.

Green Wire – Upside Down, Inside Out

Continually showing diversity in their already excellent songwriting, Mancunian quartet Green Wire deliver another rousing indie rock affair that is impossible not to like

After the irresistible dream pop stomp of ‘Cigarettes on the Dancefloor’ and the heavier thrust of ‘Silver Tongued Devil’, ‘Upside Down, Inside Out’ further enhances Green Wire’s credentials as ones to watch with a bouncing rocker that is sure to fire up both mosh pits and dancefloors alike.

Emphasised by an infectious chorus that is perfect for mainstream radio due to its singalong capability, and with catchy guitar and bass work reinforced by some energetic drum fills, ‘Upside Down, Inside Out’ might be in and out in two minutes and forty-two seconds, but not a second is wasted as the song twists and turns relentlessly whilst refusing to let the listener go until a smile is beaming across their face. Perhaps an interesting statement considering the song’s theme, but Green Wire’s aptitude for taking a tough subject and turning it into audible fun only highlights the four-piece’s songwriting skills which are well beyond their lean years. The fact the band has only been together since Spring 2021 is even harder to believe when you hear the quality of their small collection of opuses thus far.

Due to feature on a debut EP which should arrive before the year is out, ‘Upside Down, Inside Out’ continues Green Wire’s wild ascent and they still have plenty more in the tank to treat us to in the years to come.

If Green Wire are already making music as good as this, then the sky is most definitely the limit for a bunch of genuine, exciting, and instantly likeable set of lads

‘When I wrote the lyrics to the song and got it together with the whole band, I explained it’s sort of about being pulled and pushed in every which direction by the strings of love.’ – Simon Stirzaker
