With it’s plodding rhythm ‘Sun In The Winter’ by Trwbador rather stumbled into our consciousness. Once there it quietly set up camp before unleashing the full force of it’s charms, occupying our minds with it’s trance like climax.
It’s a charming, cute as you like folk, pop song that feels like it is been played backwards on a children’s scratchy record player. We love it’s innocence and deliberate vocal delivery.
Trwbador are a duo from Wales consisting of Angharad Van Rijswijk and Owain Gwilym they write, record and release music to the wider World via their own label Owlet Music. Sharing songwriting and producing duties equally, in each song they combine their love of acoustic guitar, minimalism, analogue synthesis and popular song structure.
As introductions go, this doesn’t get much better. First signs of love? (FSOL) – you betcha! There is no agonising wait to find out if the follow up material lives up to the excitement of this discovery.(It does by the way).
