With a long career behind her, singer-songwriter Victoria George returns with Every Little Bit, a deeply personal track shaped by resilience and appreciation after overcoming a serious illness.
Victoria George – Every Little Bit
Born and raised in California, Victoria George began her career in her teens and has remained dedicated to music ever since. By the time she graduated from college, she was already fronting her own band, laying the foundation for a rewarding career that would eventually take her to Nashville and see her sharing the stage with artists such as Brandi Carlile, Willie Nelson, Loudon Wainwright, The Doobie Brothers, Gin Blossoms, and Jackie Greene.
A key moment in her journey came in 2018 with the release of Victoria George & The High Lonesome, a record that highlighted her vocal range across ten carefully arranged tracks. Soon after, the global pandemic paused live music, placing her momentum on hold.
In January 2024, she began recording again; however, something unexpected happened along the way. She started to develop what she described as “weird neurological symptoms.” One month later, she was diagnosed with a brain tumour. After undergoing a craniotomy and 30 rounds of radiation, Victoria found herself physically depleted but with her creative spark still there.
After this display of determination and survival, Victoria George found the inspiration for her forthcoming album, Wilderness, and of course, the track that comes from it and that we’re reviewing today, Every Little Bit. This endearing melody is a love letter to the family and friends who supported her through such uncertain times.
As one would expect, given such a heartfelt theme, the track reflects its subject through a solemn and peaceful acoustic guitar, accompanied by her soothing vocals. As it unfolds, the song builds into a blissful celebration of life, crafted to touch even the most sensitive fibres with its comforting songwriting.
“Every Little Bit is an anthem of resilience and life; its inspirational background makes it a standout piece worth revisiting many times.”
To mark the release, Victoria George & The High Lonesome are set to perform at Sweetwater Music Hall on March 22nd (Doors 7 pm, Show 8 pm).
