Alternative rock outfit Re:O return with their ninth official release, Crimson Desire, a striking track that captures the endless hunger and obsession that comes with chasing dreams and ambitions.

Re:O is a five-piece British-Japanese band known for their distinctive and genre-defying sound. Their music blends elements of metalcore, industrial, J-pop, dark pop, and cyberpunk into a cohesive and striking style. Fans have embraced this eclectic fusion, often referring to it simply as “Japancore,” a fitting label for their innovative approach.
Formed in 2021 by multi-instrumentalist Rio Suyama in Tokyo, Japan, Re:O began with Rio’s ambitious work on 嘆きのシルエット (Sorrow’s Silhouette) in 2020, followed by GUILD in 2021. GUILD gained international recognition, receiving airplay on prominent stations such as BBC Radio 1’s Future Alternative in September 2023 and BBC Introducing Oxfordshire in November 2023.
In 2023, Re:O reassembled with bassist James Wright, guitarist Jon Roberts, and drummer James “J” Stevens, with guitarist Alex Carli joining in 2025 to complete the band’s current lineup.
