New Music Monday: Introducing SlyDigs

This Warrington four-piece, certainly know what they want, and seem hell-bent on achieving it. SlyDigs formed in 2009 and since then have been picking up a strong following and attracting the eye of some musical heavy-weights along the way.

Their debut single Electric Love is bursting with energy and spirit and like the rest of their music is full of excitement and catchy choruses – so much so that it was voted “one of the five tracks you must listen to this week” by NME. – A frenzy of passion and thrills, it’s a uniquely British sound that manages to sound contemporary while recalling early 90’s Manchester and the history of UK rock n roll all at the same time.

It is no surprise this band have achieved plenty since their formation. So far they have
supported the likes of New York Dolls, The Fall, and Pete Doherty and have played at Haigh Fest, Southport Rocks Festival and Exmouth Festival. They have also toured Ireland (twice) where they opened the Westport Music Festival and have a European tour to look forward to this year, oh and they are currently part of a musical collaboration with Tricky and Paul Weller.

Having worked hard to perfect their rock ‘n’ roll sound, they are starting to see the benefits. With Channel 4 featuring Electric Love on their programme “Fresh Meat” and Channel 5 using it to promote up and coming programmes, it has certainly prepared these guys for the big time, and it seems as if they won’t be satisfied with anything less.
